Once you have some core members, you should agree to fulfill specialized roles within the club.  The positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Recruiting Manager. Each position requires a significant time commitment. The three positions that should be filled first are President, VP, and Secretary.  The Treasurer and Recruiting Manager positions become more important when the club gains some momentum.

President

Responsibilities:

  • Set the vision for the school club and its projects
  • Meet regularly (through video chat or web call) with the CEO/COO to ensure the club is having a strong positive impact on the school and surrounding community
  • Draft an agenda for every weekly meeting
  • Lead weekly meetings
  • Ensure weekly progress on all agenda items, research opportunities when appropriate
  • Maintain core programs

Requirements:

  • Must be able to motivate club members to take action
  • Should have a very disciplined work ethic
  • Dedication of substantial amounts of time to United 4 Social Change’s cause

Vice President

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain public relations for the school club
    • This includes maintaining communications with school administrators and outside organizations
  • Cooperate and divide work with the Club President on ensuring the progress of club programs (fundraising events, volunteering opportunities, etc.)
  • Must be able to fulfill the President’s responsibilities in his/her absence
  • Research new opportunities (schedules, events, etc.) that will help the club increase educational opportunities and community involvement
    • Vice Presidents will be given a few minutes at every meeting to present their findings

Requirements:

  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Good internet research skills
  • Must have a consistent work ethic (will be expected to present at every meeting)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Large time dedication

Secretary

Responsibilities:

  • Record minutes (notes) at all club meetings
  • Upload minutes into the Google Drive
  • Take attendance at meetings and upload records into the drive
  • Perform other tasks as needed, especially those associated with the organization

Requirements:

  • Must be present at EVERY club meeting
  • Should be proficient in Google Drive
  • Must be extremely organized
  • Consistent work ethic

Recruiting Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit new members
    • Print and post flyers advertising United 4 Social Change
    • Advertise interest meetings for U4SC at the beginning of the year
  • Ensure strong attendance at meetings
    • Request announcements in the school loudspeaker advertising U4SC meetings and events
    • Send out email reminders when necessary
    • Remind U4SC members at school on the day of the meeting
  • Advertise United 4 Social Change’s programs and ensure strong attendance
    • Print and post flyers advertising United 4 Social Change’s programs (fundraising events, volunteering opportunities, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Should be sociable and a good communicator
  • Must be consistent in performing tasks

Treasurer

Responsibilities:

  • Keep a record of all finances and non-monetary resources
  • Plan and run fundraisers when needed
  • Help fulfill other tasks that come up

Requirements:

  • Should be very organized
  • Should be a good planner
  • Must be consistent in performing tasks
